In the past, industrial gases were mainly used in the bulk centralized gas market, mainly used in steel, non-ferrous metals, petrochemical and coal chemical industries, mainly in the form of on-site gas production and centralized supply. There are fewer varieties.

In the future, industrial gases will expand like the emerging decentralized gas market, mainly focusing on the development of industries such as electronics, optical fibers, photovoltaics, medical care, food, biomedicine, electric light sources, machinery manufacturing and fine chemicals. These industries mainly use mobile storage equipment for distribution. The customer's demand for single gas is small but there are many varieties, mainly using special gas, bulk gas and air separation gas.

The application of industrial gases in the emerging decentralized gas market mainly has the following eight functions:

1. As a protective medium, usually helium, argon, and nitrogen are used for high purity, super-insulation, superconductivity, etc.; 2. As a detection and comparison medium, standard gas is usually prepared according to the instrument used for mass spectrometer, gas phase, etc. Chromatography, nuclear testing, alarm, leak detection, medical treatment, electronics, atomic absorption, chemical testing, etc.;

3. Energy medium, mainly used in hydrogen, oxygen, etc., is an important fuel for aerospace;

4. Medium for cutting and welding, used in electric light source industry, glass manufacturing, machining, aerospace, infrastructure construction, etc.;

5. Reaction and neutralization medium, used for reaction and protection in fine chemical industry and biomedicine;

6. Freezing and preservation medium, commonly used in food processing such as liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide;

7. Treatment of sterilization medium, helium, oxygen, nitrogen, laser mixture, etc. are used in medical equipment;

8. Comprehensive means and media, used in molding protection of manufacturing, protection of nuclear reactors, electric light source lighting industry and purging, etc.
